Update guide

This is a short guide for how to update pecio to newer versions available.

1. Logout

Be sure to be logged out from pecio cms.

2. Check version

First you have to check the version installed, because you can't update from any version to the newer one. So you have to look here to which versions you can update. If you can't update to the latest one, first update to any other newer version for which update to the latest version is supported.

3. Download package and check configuration file

Now download and extract the package of pecio to your computer. Open the file _pec_config.inc.php and compare it with the one on your server. If there are any changes just make the file on your server up to date.

4. Upload

Upload all files and folders to the path where pecio is installed, except for those:

• pec_upload/
• pec_install/
• _pec_config.inc.php

5. Do the update

Navigate with your web browser to pec_admin/index.php. There will be a message that you have to update pecio. Thereunder is a text input field where you have to enter your update password. If you've forgotten it, take a look into the _pec_config.inc.php where it is stored. After entering the password press the Update-Button. If the update was successful, you will see the proper message. If not, just contact me.
